About State Games of America and National Congress of State Games
WHAT IS IT AND WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
The State Games of America is an Olympic-style event featuring competition between State Games medal winners (gold, silver, bronze) from across the nation. There are currently 30 states conducting or organizing statewide sports festivals known as State Games. See the eligibility page for more information on how to get qualified.

WHEN IS THE EVENT HELD?
The event is hosted every two years on the odd year (i.e. 2015, 2017, etc.). The next State Games of America will be held in Ames-Des Moines, Iowa in 2022.
The State Games of America have been conducted biennially since 1999, with host cities including:
St. Louis (1999, 2001)
Hartford (2003)
Colorado Springs (2005, 2007, 2009)
San Diego (2011)
Hershey-Harrisburg, PA (2013)
Lincoln, NE (2015)
Grand Rapids, MI (2017)

NATIONAL CONGRESS OF STATE GAMES
The National Congress of State Games (NCSG) is a membership organization comprised of 30 Summer State Games and 10 Winter State Games organizations and a member of the United States Olympic Committee's Multi Sport Organizational Council. The mission of the NCSG is to support State Games member organizations in the promotion of health, fitness and character building through multi-sport competitions and physical activities.
